THE JOSHUA JASWON QUINTET

Joshua Jaswon is a London based saxophonist and composer quickly emerging on the UK jazz scene.

Following graduating from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2010 and being awarded a two-year Guildhall Artists Fellowship, Joshua now leads his own quintet featuring some of the most highly rated young jazz musicians in the UK.

The quintet is committed to performing engaging straight-ahead jazz that uses the breadth of the jazz tradition for its inspiration.

The ensemble has appeared in the London Jazz Festival, the City of London Festival, performed at venues such as The Vortex, Ronnie Scotts, LSO St. Luke’s, Kings Place and The Forge, and has been broadcast on BBC Radio 3.

The quintet will be performing music from its debut album Ribbons. The set of original compositions draw on the group's interest in lyricism, swing, and the blues and reflect the ensemble's intent to deliver communicative performances accessible to a wide-ranging audience.

The band:

Joshua Jaswon - Alto Saxophone
Freddie Gavita - Trumpet / Flugelhorn
Matt Robinson - Piano
Darren McCarthy - Double Bass
David Ingamells - Drums
