In this firebrand pairing, Jon Coley, guitarist, singer and songwriter reprises his sellout electric London show in his hometown of Manchester for one night only.
In his solo capacity, Jon plays an eclectic mix of Blues, Soul and Folk, mixed with fresh original songwriting.
He is renowned for his unique guitar playing passionate vocal performances, reminiscent of Van Morrison and Amos Lee. Jon is influenced by performers such as Nick Drake, Neil Young, James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Sam Cooke, Bert Jansch, Wizz Jones, classic blues and especially the music of John Martyn.
He has quickly become a legendary figure in his present home of Manchester, and his family's native Liverpool, where his grandfather worked to book bands for the Cavern Club alongside Bobby Wooler and owner Ray McFall.
Jon has played support spots and festivals alongside John Renbourn, Blind Boy Paxton, Michael Chapman, Ralph McTell, Jon Gomm, Wizz Jones, Dylan LeBlanc, Chance McCoy and shared a stage and many more, including Foss Patterson and Danny Thompson of John Martyn's band at venues as varied as New York's Bitter End Club, and Liverpool's Echo Arena.
After years of live touring, Jon released his Mercury nominated album "If All I Ever Wanted Was All I Ever Needed" to critical acclaim in 2021.
Pairing with long time collaborators Grace and Danger, adds a whole new live dynamic to the show.
Grace and Danger are an Eastbourne based Blues/Rock band quickly becoming known as the must see new-blood act on the UK music scene. As well as playing music festivals and legendary venues such as The Forum (Tunbridge Wells), The Clutha (Glasgow), The Black Heart and The Fiddlers Elbow (Camden) the band has a particularly devoted following on the South Coast.
The frontman Rory Purdey (vocals, lead guitar) brings an eruptive amalgam of Jimmy Hendrix, Steve Ray Vaughan and Joe Bonamassa. Combined with his signature original sound and tone, he makes his guitar purr whenever he starts to play. Audiences are drawn in by Rory’s incredible song-writing, ear-catching vocals and virtuosic guitar playing.
With the experienced and highly esteemed Aiden Purdey on drums the band gets space to deliver a dynamic and creative thrill show. His spectacular drumming is as integral to the ‘Grace and Danger’ sound as John Bonham’s to Zeppelin, or Keith Moon’s to The Who’s. Aiden is also highly in demand as a live and studio session drummer who is well versed in all genres.
They also have a huge influence on their musical heritage. Rory and Aiden’s Uncle John Martyn (OBE) give them an extra special bond to not only the name of the band but the music they produce within. “Our Uncle, John Martyn, had a special connection to music… there was a directness and integrity to his playing and writing… we hope we carry on some of that legacy….”.
The band are heavily influenced by not only the classic blues and rock legends that paved the way for future generations but also some of the finest 21st century blues and rock artists around at the moment. The likes of 'Rival Sons', 'Vintage Trouble', 'Kris Barras', 'Gary Clarke Jr.' and 'Marcus King' just to name a few.
