Bringing together four North West musicians with phenomenal pedigrees, the Munch Manship Quartet is a swinging, melodic outfit that evokes the hard bop bands of the 50s and 60s, with a varied programme including some choice ballads and Latin numbers.

A renowned saxophonist and flautist MUNCH MANSHIP originated from the North East and moved to London in the early 1970s before establishing himself in Manchester as one of the foremost players in the region.

Across an illustrious career he has played with artists including Johnny Mathis, Shirley Bassey and Roy Orbison, while his orchestral and TV credits include working with Ronnie Hazlehurst, Alyn Ainsworth, Sir Charles Groves, the BBC Radio Big Band, the Granada TV Orchestra (performing at many BAFTA awards ceremonies), the Liverpool Philharmonic and the Halle Orchestra.

In a jazz setting, Munch has played alongside many international stars such as Ronnie Scott, Bobby Shew, Buddy Miles, Jimmy Bruno, Jim Mullen, Don Weller, John Etheridge, Kenny Baker and Humphrey Lyttelton, and is well-known to jazz club audiences around the North West and beyond.

Tonight, the Quartet play a mixture of Jazz and Latin music from Be Bop to Modern jazz plus tunes from The Great American Songbook.
