Based on the idea that the song is mightier than the individual, this has formed a strong collective bringing you hand clapping, foot stomping, whistle blowing, crowd cheering music to feed your soul. Ladies and gentlemen, we give you The Soul Shebang!
Playing classic hits from Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, Tina Turner and Stevie Wonder with the odd seasoning of Northern Soul from the likes of Frank Wilson and Barbara Acklin, this band is sure to fill the dance floor from the off!

Meet Soulful Minds Music, a dynamic 4-piece ensemble from Manchester breaking musical boundaries with their soulful blend of Motown and Soul alongside their Gospel roots. Led by the captivating Manchester R&B vocalist Natasha, the band weaves together diverse influences into a harmonious journey.
Demetrius, the rhythmic heartbeat, drives the band with his infectious energy on drums whilst Miguel, adds sophistication with soulful/Rnb and Occasional Rock solos on the Guitar, and Roger, The bands MD and Keys player, masterfully binds the arrangements to make this band sound phenomenal and have your unique experience one to always remember.
Church raised musicians, SoulfulMinds bring an ultimate twist of gospel to their sound including POP HITS and POP Rock songs where there is an underlying Gospel sound which is why it sets this 4 piece band apart from other bands.
This multicultural quartet transcends borders, delivering performances that celebrate unity through music which includes carefully arranged Medleys of songs from the 80’s right up to the 00’s. - This band will keep you dancing all night long! literally.

Boogie Williams & The Imperials
A prolific 4-piece plays the best of Blues, Boogie-Woogie, and Soul

Having played together in various guises, these musicians have decided to form their own band, The Imperials, which features M&P favourite Boogie Williams on keys. This trio has created a sound that showcases their skills as musicians and impressed audiences.
Danny Handley has honed his skills as a frontman working for The Animals for the last decade. His vocals and guitar work have brought the band to a new level. Barney Williams is one of the original founding members of The Milltown Brothers and now also works with The Animals providing them with his amazing boogie woogie piano style. Roberto Ruiz on bass is a session player originally from NYC, and mutli-instrumentalist. Ben Gonzalez on drums form the backbone of the band as the rhythm section.
They provide the beat that keeps the engine humming. Tune in for a special night of live music!
Yellow Light Hansa
A vocal-led performance of Soulful/Jazz originals & the band’s takes on the classics.

Based in Leeds, Yellow Light Hansa is an exciting contemporary band with big ambitions of spreading their word over the northern scene.
Lead vocalist, Florin Bailey, is the chief protagonist behind this idea. She writes music that allows vocal virtuosity; combining blues influences and 1960's soul, connecting to the jazz/ latin-jazz mastery of the other band members to make the sound of Yellow Light Hansa.
Members: Vocals- Florin Bailey, Tenor Sax- Alex Fisher, Keys- Gergley Kendick, Bass- Woody Hayden and Drums- Lachlan Banner.
On the night Yellow Light Hansa will be playing a set of their soulful/jazz originals combined with covers by artists who have influenced their music such as Wilson Pickett, Al Green and Aretha Franklin.
The Mudez Project
An eclectic fusion of jazz, neo-soul and progressive experimentalism.

Fronted by charismatic vocalist Lucy Camba Bermudez (f.k.a. Lucy Mae) and multi-instrumentalist Luc Phan, The Mudez Project bring you an eclectic fusion of jazz, neo-soul and progressive experimentalism.
Having played at various jazz venues across the country since 2012, the quintet will showcase songs off their 'Lucy Mae' EP from 2016, as well as debuting new material, delving into intimate covers and venturing into expansive atmospheric improvisations.
Jon Coley with Grace and Danger

In his solo capacity, Jon plays an eclectic mix of Blues, Soul and Folk, mixed with fresh original songwriting.
He is renowned for his unique guitar playing passionate vocal performances, reminiscent of Van Morrison and Amos Lee. Jon is influenced by performers such as Nick Drake, Neil Young, James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Sam Cooke, Bert Jansch, Wizz Jones, classic blues and especially the music of John Martyn.
He has quickly become a legendary figure in his present home of Manchester, and his family's native Liverpool, where his grandfather worked to book bands for the Cavern Club alongside Bobby Wooler and owner Ray McFall.
Jon has played support spots and festivals alongside John Renbourn, Blind Boy Paxton, Michael Chapman, Ralph McTell, Jon Gomm, Wizz Jones, Dylan LeBlanc, Chance McCoy and shared a stage and many more, including Foss Patterson and Danny Thompson of John Martyn's band at venues as varied as New York's Bitter End Club, and Liverpool's Echo Arena.
After years of live touring, Jon released his Mercury nominated album "If All I Ever Wanted Was All I Ever Needed" to critical acclaim in 2021.
Pairing with long time collaborators Grace and Danger, adds a whole new live dynamic to the show.
Grace and Danger are an Eastbourne based Blues/Rock band quickly becoming known as the must see new-blood act on the UK music scene. As well as playing music festivals and legendary venues such as The Forum (Tunbridge Wells), The Clutha (Glasgow), The Black Heart and The Fiddlers Elbow (Camden) the band has a particularly devoted following on the South Coast.
The frontman Rory Purdey (vocals, lead guitar) brings an eruptive amalgam of Jimmy Hendrix, Steve Ray Vaughan and Joe Bonamassa. Combined with his signature original sound and tone, he makes his guitar purr whenever he starts to play. Audiences are drawn in by Rory’s incredible song-writing, ear-catching vocals and virtuosic guitar playing.
With the experienced and highly esteemed Aiden Purdey on drums the band gets space to deliver a dynamic and creative thrill show. His spectacular drumming is as integral to the ‘Grace and Danger’ sound as John Bonham’s to Zeppelin, or Keith Moon’s to The Who’s. Aiden is also highly in demand as a live and studio session drummer who is well versed in all genres.
They also have a huge influence on their musical heritage. Rory and Aiden’s Uncle John Martyn (OBE) give them an extra special bond to not only the name of the band but the music they produce within. “Our Uncle, John Martyn, had a special connection to music… there was a directness and integrity to his playing and writing… we hope we carry on some of that legacy….”.
The band are heavily influenced by not only the classic blues and rock legends that paved the way for future generations but also some of the finest 21st century blues and rock artists around at the moment. The likes of 'Rival Sons', 'Vintage Trouble', 'Kris Barras', 'Gary Clarke Jr.' and 'Marcus King' just to name a few.

After absolutely raising the roof of M&P’s for their first gig with us back in November, we are incredibly excited to welcome Yubaba back to the club!
Yubaba are North Wales’ and the North West’s premier Funk & Soul act. This vocal-led 6 piece band never fail to get audiences of all ages moving with their infectious mix of Funk, Soul, Ska and Reggae.
With a mighty repertoire spanning from classic grooves to more modern chart tracks, Yubaba add their own arrangements and twists to Funk, Soul, and Reggae hits from the 80’s to today.
From The White Stripes, to Amy Winehouse, to The Beatles, to James Brown, to Aretha Franklin, to Junior Senior, and so far very beyond…
The hugely competent line up of vocals, saxophone, guitar, keyboards, bass, and drums promise to ignite the atmosphere of our little backstreet jazz club from song one. This is to be a Saturday night in the company of a fantastic band whose awesome showmanship and skill will get you dancing in your seat, then on the dance floor, then all the way home.

Dave Luvin Presents The Jazz Singers sees some of Manchester’s finest jazz musicians come together under the lead of Kansas City bass man, Dave Luvin, fronted by a phenomenal vocalist.
Tonight, the band will be fronted by the fantastic Jocelyn Knight.
Over the course of the night, you can expect to hear the unexpected! Jocelyn and the band will be performing some all-time classic soul, pop, and disco tunes given a unique jazz-y twist!
Mr. Green
A band of professional musicians from Manchester who came together over their love of jazz-funk.

Mr. Green’s Jazz-Funk Revival
Mr. Green is a band of professional musicians from Manchester who came together over their love of jazz-funk. The band started as a homage to the legendary Blue Note Records guitarist Grant Green. As the band grew they encompassed music from other great jazz-funk artists ranging from the sixties up to the present day. Their repertoire mixes funky beats, hectic solos and cool melodies with just a hint of fusion. Expect music from The Meters, George Benson, Grant Green, Cory Wong, The New Mastersounds and more.
For this gig, the band was joined by two special guests: the accomplished funkster Stephen Wilcock on saxophone and flute, and the amazing vocal talents of Martin Connor singing classics from artists like Sly and The Family Stone and The Isley Brothers.
