9:00pm - 12:00am / FREE ENTRY | DOORS 6PM | HAPPY HOUR 6-8PM | GIG STARTS 9PM

Having been musicians for quite some time, the members of Shyfinger came together, desperate to have a band with an interesting name.

All the good names were taken.
 ALL OF THEM.

But this did not deter the plucky crew of instrument manglers, bashers and blowers. Oh no. It made them more RESOLUTE. And thus, they did put together bits of funky riffing, and jazzy noodling, and some of that “head-nod shit,” leaving out the face-melting solos so beloved of musos everywhere, and verily it became a set.

And oh, they did practice.

And they did write.

And they did drink tea, of varying strength and exotic flavourings.

And they were happy for now they have a band to which you can listen.

Good luck, and godspeed!

Released in April 2018, this is the latest CD from Yorkshire - based guitarist Derrick Harris and features his arrangements of seminal pop tunes in a jazzy format.

'Be-Pop' includes songs by The Beach Boys, the Beatles and Paul Simon. The band's well crafted arrangements give these tunes a light, airy and spacious outing with some tasteful soloing which allows the jazz and pop listener to appreciate them afresh. The standout track for me is Norwegian Wood, which seems to have limitless possibilities for rearranging and re-imagining. Altogether, an album that deserves a wider hearing and some gigs booked on the strength of it!

Having raised the roof back in May, we warmly welcome the Black Sheikhs back to the club tonight!

Vintage reprobates and genre alchemists, the Black Sheikhs fire heady concoctions of Punk, Pop, Rock and Swing, steaming into the 21st century.

Lord Acton and his band of virtuosos take the popular songs of today, and dress them up in the snazzy rags of the Jazz era. Mötorhead, Beyoncé, Swift and Sheeran, injected with a hefty dose of swing and savour faire.

From Glastonbury to the Palace of Westminster, they’ve set the stage on fire with boundless energy and brazen bon humour. From pub gigs to arenas, weddings to wakes, the Sheikhs have done it in style.

Come and join in the fun!

THE BAND:
Lord Brian Acton: Guitar, Vocals
Diane Hammond: Clarinet, Vocals
Jamie Stockbridge: Tenor Saxophone
