Timeline are a UK-based quintet, carving their own path in their adopted home Liverpool.
Inspired by 70s Jazz Fusion alongside the likes of Brecker Brothers or Mike Stern, Timeline have found a distinct sound - an almost “Nu-Fusion.”
They comprise of saxophonist and vocalist Sarah Sands, guitarist Jack O’Hanlon, keyboardist Tom Barber, bassist Fran Mills and drummer Ben Johnson. Dubbed by GetIntoThis as "A band that everyone is going to be talking about. Life-enhancing", they're one to watch.
Since forming in 2017, the quintet have taken their music further afield, playing the International Blues on the Bay Festival, as well as a BBC Radio Ulster live session. They have continued to shake up the jazz scenes in Bristol, London and Manchester, playing everywhere from riverside boats to Bristol Night Clubs.
The band is a pillar of the Northern Jazz community, with their most notable gig to date being in November 2021 supporting MonoNeon at Future Yard, Birkenhead.
Tonight, Timeline will be playing a blend of fresh originals inspired by the double barrelled sounds of Mike Stern and the Brecker Brothers, alongside covers of nu-jazz and re-imagined standards. Between them, they have supported the likes of fusion heavyweights such as MonoNeon, Stanley Clarke and Robben Ford.
