Ease your way out of Christmas and into New Year with an evening of live jazz from the Kyran Matthews Quartet.

Led by Manchester saxophonist Kyran Matthews, this quartet brings together some of the city’s finest jazz musicians for a set full of melodic playing, inventive improvisation and plenty of groove. With a sound rooted in the rich traditions of jazz but open to contemporary influences, expect a relaxed yet engaging performance from a group of musicians who know how to make a small room feel special.

Kyran’s career has taken him from jazz clubs and festivals across Europe and South Africa to performances with ensembles including NYJO, Beats & Pieces and the BBC Philharmonic.

So, if Christmas is winding down but you’re not quite ready for the full New Year’s madness, settle in with a drink, some great live music and a proper night of jazz at Matt & Phred’s.
