With an ironic nod towards both religion and Voodoo, Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday) is the annual New Orleans festival of street parades, food, drink, music, madness and a large helping of good natured debauchery before the runup to Easter..

The Fat Tuesday Four play the good time rough and raffish music originated by Buddy Bolden, Louis "Big Eye" Nelson, Jelly Roll Morton, Louis Armstrong, King Oliver, Freddie Keppard and a host of others, on the legendary Mississippi steamers, the dodgy dives of Bourbon Street, Basin St and the infamous Lulu White's Mahogany Hall. It is the original party music of New Orleans which kept the dancehalls jumping every night and made the Roaring Twenties bellow. So leave propriety at the door, get your party heads on, turn Matt & Phreds into the French Quarter and have a right good blowout........ Dress optional ...... Beer drinking compulsory.
