Scottish Jazz Award nominees, Nimbus Sextet, remain one of the most innovative groups in the new wave of UK jazz. The group are on a UK-wide tour during summer 2023, which will see them return to the legendary Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in London and perform at Manchester's Matt & Phreds. They will be debuting their brand new single release and compositions from their upcoming third album.

Performing in the UK and Europe’s top jazz venues, the Joe Nichols-led outfit have firmly established themselves as an increasingly major voice in the vibrant European jazz scene. They launched their second album at the celebrated New Morning in Paris, with sold out appearances at Pizza Express Jazz Soho, Glasgow Jazz Festival, Edinburgh Festival Fringe and Lancaster Jazz Festival further establishing the group as dynamite live performers.

Nimbus Sextet’s albums – DREAMS FULFILLED (2020) and FORWARD THINKER (2022) were both released on the legendary Acid Jazz label.  Both albums have garnered global acclaim from the likes of Jazzed, Clash Magazine, Jamie Cullum on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 6 Music (Huey Morgan and the Craig Charles Funk & Soul Show). Jazz FM awarded both of their albums the prestigious ‘Album Of The Week’ accolade upon release, and have playlisted all of their singles on Acid Jazz to date. Jazzwise Magazine called FORWARD THINKER “a very accomplished record". The band continue to expand their musical horizons, incorporating neo-soul and dance elements to the jazz, world and funk sounds they are well known for.

Nimbus Sextet are now taking their evolving sound to new audiences with further releases and festival appearances throughout 2023.
