Matt & Phred’s Vinyl Collection, Chapter 1: Jazz
With DJ Pasta Paul live on the decks
Lovers of jazz, come down to our little club and enjoy one of Manchester’s finest DJ’s, Pasta Paul, taking you on a voyage through the genre. Jazz is one of the most important genres in the history of both music and creativity at large, so you can expect this event to put the spotlight on a wide variety of artists and bands who stand out throughout jazz’s story so far.
With DJ Pasta Paul’s 3-hour set consisting of a plethora of tunes from the likes of Donald Byrd, Michael Garrick Trio, and Takumi Moriya; even those who don’t think they like jazz can expect to be proven wrong.
With the candlelit M&P’s ready to satisfy all of your drink and pizza desires, you can really make an afternoon of it. Even better: get in between 1-2pm to enjoy Happy Hour… Buy two selected drinks and get a free pizza or get two house cocktails for just £14.
Today we also have a JAZZ VINYL STAND supplied to us from Britannia Record Fairs! You will be able to browse and purchase original pressings and new/remastered cuts spanning the history of the genre. From the days of the New Orleans greats (Louis, Beiderbecke and Bobby Hackett), to the masters of Big Band, to the be-bop giants of the 50’s, to the age of Miles and his peers, and into the jazz funk movement, with some soul funk slipped in!
Britannia Record Fairs are an event where both seasoned collectors and newcomers can explore, converse and discover vinyl records. We pride ourselves on being a hub for vinyl enthusiasts of all ages.
