With our Halloween Weekender at Matt & Phred’s in full swing, how could we resist inviting one of our all-time favourite Blues Bands to our little club for A Trip Down Spooky Avenue?! 👻 Unfailingly raising the roof with their dance-inducing mix of Blues tunes, this is set to be a mighty Saturday evening!
And yes - you can get dressed up in your best halloween costume!!! Or, of course, come in whatever you’re most comfortable in.
Anyone who has experienced a Matt & Phred’s Blues Jam will agree that no one quite gets the show started like the one and only Franny Eubank. A hugely popular and talented lyricist and harmonica player, Franny never fails to ignite the atmosphere at the club delivering a one-of-a-kind and truly authentic night of Blues. Come along, have the dance of your life, and enjoy a full band performance like no other. Franny could keep you entertained but solo, but no need: for this gig he is joined by three of Manchester’s finest Blues-ers.
Fuelled by the Blues of Howlin’ Wolf, Little Walter and Sonny Boy Williamson and fired by the Devil himself, Franny’s Harmonica and deep, soulful vocals have set rooms alight with a blue flame night after night after night. If there’s one man and his band who can get an instant grin on your face and leave you wanting more, it’s Franny Eubank & His Blues Band.

M&P’s Halloween Weekender, A Trip Down Spooky Avenue, continues with the first of two gigs this evening - this one is FREE and KIDS ARE WELCOME! Come on down and enjoy some classic Swamp Funk, Voodoo Blues, and Mardi Gras street beats… Oh so spooky!!!
This fantastic duo consisting of vocals/guitar and piano will be serving up a spicy gumbo of classic New Orleans material, old time blues and rock/pop covers given the Nightcreatures treatment.
In the true spirit of the city they bring together songs sourced from such diverse artists as Prince, Black Sabbath, ZZ Top, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Tom Waits and Ian Drury, as well as from New Orleans greats like Allen Toussaint, Dr John, Professor Longhair and James Booker. In addition to this they have reworked songs that were originally recorded by classic bluesmen Blind Willie Johnson, Leadbelly, Screaming Jay Hawkins and Jelly Roll Morton.
