We are delighted to be hosting the Joe Tatton Trio, plus special guests, for a very special gig from a hugely well-acclaimed group of musicians at M&P’s. Come along experience some beautiful, foot-tap-inducing jazz music, then the next minute get pulled to the dance floor for an all-out jazzer’s party. This line up of vocals, piano, flute, trumpet, percussion, bass, and drums is simply everything you could wish for a proper Friday night party at our little backstreet jazz club.
Joe Tatton, keyboard player with UK/US funk/soul jazz kings The New Mastersounds for 16 years now and has recorded over a dozen albums and many singles with them. Joe held down the keyboard role with UK jazz-funk kings The Haggis Horns, and is also featured on the worldwide hit single "Put Your Records On" by Corinne Bailey Rae. On top of this, Joe has played live sets with the likes of Maceo Parker, Fred Wesley, Art Neville, George Porter Jr and Zigaboo Modeliste of The Meters…
In 2020, Joe hooked up with top Nashville session musicians Steve Mackie (double bass) and Kenneth Blevins (drums) to form a trio, and put down all his original songs and also a cover of Mose Allison's “Ever since the world ended”. Joe is bringing all the songs from his forthcoming album, plus some extra treats for good measure, to Matt and Phred’s with a killer band. You really REALLY don’t want to miss this one.
The line up:
